Cobble Creek Lodge

Option One
Cobble Creek Lodge of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan wanted street cred. I proposed four designs for a large free-standing frontage sign
Typically I avoid having a personal favourite option in a design proposal. In this case however, my above design was definitely my preference
The three other designs I submitted were more expected — assemblages of logs, wood panels, prairie stone — that echo the lodge’s exterior
The client however easily felt as I did
The clean feel of the brushed aluminum + the crisp font visible from 200 metres with warm internal lighting are uniquely welcoming — and tell an honest story of the Lodge’s contemporary interior. I incorporated prairie stones at the base to be sure to bring along the expected regional narrative
A North American body of sign makers also agreed.
My installed design was awarded
